• The disease too many women miss

Check out this entertaining yet sobering video put out by Go Red for Women in the US.   It’s easy to see how as women, we are so busy looking after everyone else that we lose sight of our own health.  Heart disease is the #1 killer of women in Canada – 29% of both men and women will die of heart disease.   Yet women are more often misdiagnosed because they don’t have the usual signs and symptoms and they more likely to ignore their problems.  Common symptoms for women include unusual fatigue, sleep disturbances, shortness of breath, indigestion and anxiety.  The majority of women (78%) have had symptoms for more than one month before their first heart attack.  Please help spread the word by forwarding this video to all the women you care about.  In my next blog I’ll give you some easy steps you can take to reduce your risk of heart disease.  Until then…Be Healthy.
